So, what do we do?
Someone stopped me on the street the other day and commented about the signage on one of My WePrep vehicles. She remarked about what a neat idea she thought it was and then said something like, “So what do you do, clean out people’s houses so they can put them on the market?” What we really do is the deferred maintenance that people have neglected to do over the years. What does that mean you ask? Keep in mind that every house is different and each requires various levels of maintenance and TLC. Some houses need a little bit of work, others lots. Typically, we begin by helping the home owner separate the items they really need from the things they can toss, and haul away roughly 2/3rds of the unnecessary things in a home. Often this is a big task because people are really connected to their stuff and have difficulty parting with things. Then we fix all the things that have been overlooked, like rot, caulk, grout, damaged woodwork, dirty windows, broken door knobs, settlement cracks, sinking walkways, nail pops and holes, drywall damage, etc. We install product to update the home depending on what the homeowner can afford, for instance: carpet, granite, flooring, etc. Often we paint. We clean everything: the house, the appliances, the windows, the carpets, light fixtures, fans, vents, etc. We do what’s necessary like power washing the exterior, and perform minor or major landscaping to give the home maximum curb appeal. When we are all done, we move the furniture around so there’s good space utilization. We help the homeowner with their realtor selection if they need it and will even help them with the marketing. So, yes we clean out houses, and so much more. Our objective is to get the house in good as new condition.
